Perspectives on a patient-owned surveillance system for DFU care

Advancements in digital health are transforming care for Diabetic Foot Ulcers (DFUs). A recent study utilizing the eKare inSight app explored the views of patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers on the use of a patient-owned wound surveillance application.

Although none of the participants had prior experience with such technology, the response was overwhelmingly positive. The study identified four major themes from patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, outlining both barriers and facilitators to this digital transition.

Digital health holds immense potential – from empowering patients to improving health outcomes. The key to success lies in tailoring applications to meet local needs. This research is a significant stride in integrating digital health solutions for DFU management.
